It was a tough start to Saturday's game for the Vancouver Canucks.
Starting goaltender Thatcher Demko exited the game before the second period after allowing three goals on six shots to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Demko suffered a lower-body injury in the first period and will be re-evaluated over the next few days, Canucks coach Adam Foote told reporters after the game.
Backup Kevin Lankinen took his place between the pipes.
Matias Maccelli, Max Domi and William Nylander, in his first game back from injury, scored for the Leafs.
Meanwhile, the Canucks were unable to solve Joseph Woll, who stopped all 29 shots he faced for a shutout.
Demko, a Vezina Trophy finalist in 2024, has a .902 save percentage and 2.79 goals-against average with one shutout for the 32nd-place Canucks prior to Saturday night.
